A public bus to university might only cover half your journey. SG Bus+MRT also advertises NUS and NTU shuttle timings. I make BusSing, but I would still check that coverage first if a campus shuttle is part of your daily trip.

Written by the developer of BusSing. Sources and the basis for each comparison are named in the article. Features and prices can change. We have not measured arrival accuracy against the other app.

This is SG Bus+MRT by Susido

There are several Singapore bus apps with similar names. This comparison is about SG Bus+MRT: Live Bus Timing by Susido, the app named here. It is separate from SG Buses and SG BusLeh.

I checked its Singapore App Store listing and developer information on 27 October 2026. This is a comparison of documented features and purchase terms. It does not report a hands-on app test.

Campus shuttles and rail information are good reasons to look

SG Bus+MRT advertises NUS and NTU shuttle timings, routes and crowd levels alongside public-bus information. The developer also lists MRT and LRT maps, station exits and amenities, and live MRT service status. It explicitly says it does not provide live MRT train arrival estimates. Service status and the next train time are different things.

Those are useful tools if your journey regularly involves a campus shuttle or an unfamiliar station exit. For those particular needs, SG Bus+MRT gives you features to check directly. BusSing has offline MRT route planning, but an offline route does not include current disruption information.

What BusSing offline MRT planning includes

Both apps have bus maps. BusSing also has tools outside the app.

SG Bus+MRT lists a live bus map, routes, stop lists, capacity indicators and bookmarks you can pin and rename. BusSing has bus locations and routes too. A bus map on its own is not a reason to switch between them.

With BusSing, you can put a standard widget on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, check timings on Apple Watch, or start a Live Activity while waiting. The Live Activity keeps arrivals visible while you use another app. Dynamic Island needs a compatible iPhone.

BusSing also has alight reminders and online directions combining walking, buses and MRT. Those directions need internet to fetch a route. Only the separate MRT route planner works offline.

A one-off ad-removal option and an ad-free free app

SG Bus+MRT is listed as containing advertising. Its developer policy says a one-off in-app purchase can remove ads. The policy does not give that option a price. The Singapore listing shows purchases called Buy me a coffee, Buy me a set meal and Love your app, but does not identify which item removes ads. Check the purchase screen before paying.

BusSing has no ads in the free app. Bus arrivals, standard widgets, alight reminders and offline MRT planning are available without Express. Express adds unlimited Live Activities and location-aware widgets; free Live Activities have a limit. You are paying for extra features rather than paying to remove adverts.

The SG Bus+MRT policy names AdMob and describes advertising-related data processing. BusSing does not use third-party advertising or sell personal data, but it does process information for features, analytics and operations. Both written policies are more useful than treating a store privacy label as a complete explanation.

Where BusSing may be the wrong fit

SG Bus+MRT has an Android version and lists iOS 17 as its minimum on iPhone. BusSing is for Apple devices, requires iOS 18 on iPhone and watchOS 11 on Apple Watch, and has no Android version. Check that your phone can run the app before comparing the extras.

I also cannot promise a more accurate bus estimate. Both apps identify LTA as their public-bus arrival source. BusSing arrivals need internet, estimates can change, and iOS decides when widgets refresh. A convenient countdown can still be based on older information.

For campus shuttles and live rail status, I would start by checking the tools SG Bus+MRT explicitly advertises. For an ad-free daily bus check, try a free BusSing widget for a boarding stop you already know. That gives you a practical comparison on your own journey.
